The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, has announced her resignation from office.
Onyejeocha disclosed this in a statement shared via her official X handle, expressing appreciation for the opportunity to serve in the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“It is with a heart full of gratitude that I announce my resignation,” she said.
“This decision comes with profound gratitude to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the opportunity to serve Nigeria in his administration.”
The former minister, who was appointed in August 2023, said her decision was driven by the need to pursue a new phase in her career.
“This is not an end but a new beginning. I remain committed to service, to progress, and to building the Nigeria we all deserve,” she added.
Onyejeocha served as Minister of State for Labour and Employment during her tenure, where she contributed to efforts aimed at improving job creation and enhancing workers’ welfare.
Her resignation is expected to impact ongoing activities at the Ministry of Labour and Employment, particularly as the government continues to address unemployment challenges in the country.
Before her appointment, Onyejeocha was a member of the House of Representatives, representing Isiukwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State.
