President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to economic prosperity, national stability and inclusive growth, saying he will not abandon the mandate given to him by Nigerians.
Tinubu spoke on Thursday at the State House, Abuja, while receiving members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), led by Governor Hope Uzodimma.
“We cannot afford to let Nigerians down,” the President said, adding that ongoing reforms were aimed at dismantling long-standing political and economic barriers and improving living standards.
He urged the group to intensify grassroots mobilisation to sensitise citizens on government policies, stressing that public participation remained key to national development.
“You represent the conscience of a nation that wants to break the shackles of poverty and hopelessness,” he said.
The President also cautioned against disregard for the rule of law, insisting that court judgments must be obeyed.
“We cannot submit to disobedience of lawful court orders. Whether judgments favour us or not, we must uphold democratic principles,” Tinubu said.
Responding to criticism from opposition figures, he dismissed claims against his administration, insisting the reforms were necessary despite temporary hardship.
“They want to scare me off? That is not possible,” he said.
Tinubu also noted that governance is a continuous process, saying his administration was building on past efforts while correcting shortcomings.
He reiterated his commitment to inclusive growth and youth empowerment, urging Nigerians to remain hopeful despite current economic challenges.
“There is no better place than our country, and no one can build it except us,” he said.
Governor Uzodimma earlier said the Renewed Hope Ambassadors had set up structures across wards and polling units nationwide, engaging communities and gathering data to support civic outreach.
Former governors Aminu Bello Masari and Ifeanyi Okowa, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, and other dignitaries praised the administration’s reforms and pledged continued support.
