A journalist with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Kano Office, Ramatu Garba, has lost her father, Malam Garba Dogara, who passed away on Sunday in Kano after a brief illness.
The deceased, aged 80, died at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.
He is survived by a wife, 10 children, 37 grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Until his death, Malam Dogara worked in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Bayero University, Kano.
His funeral prayer was held at Gandun Albasa Quarters in Kano metropolis in accordance with Islamic rites, amid prayers for the repose of his soul.
Meanwhile, Kano Times has expressed its condolences to the bereaved family, particularly Ramatu Garba, describing the loss as painful.
The management and staff of the organisation prayed to Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus, and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
