Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State.
Pantami clinched the party’s ticket through a voice affirmation by delegates during the PDP governorship primary election held on Tuesday in Gombe.
Announcing the result, Chairman of the PDP Electoral Panel, Gregory Yenlong, declared Pantami the winner of the exercise, noting that he was the sole aspirant in the primary.
Speaking shortly after his emergence, Pantami said his decision to contest the governorship seat was driven by his desire to serve the people of Gombe State.
He pledged to govern the state with fairness and justice if elected.
“I am in the race to offer service to the people of Gombe State. By the grace of God, we will provide leadership based on fairness and justice,” he said.
