The Federal Government has unveiled the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) Human Resources Employee Self-Service Application as part of efforts to accelerate digital transformation in the Federal Civil Service.
The government also commenced sensitisation on the newly approved Public Service Mentoring Programme during a stakeholders’ event held in Abuja on Thursday as part of activities marking the 2026 Civil Service Week.
Speaking at the event, Permanent Secretary, Career Management Office, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Nkiruka Jones-Nebo, described both initiatives as strategic reforms aimed at modernising public service operations and strengthening leadership succession.
She said the IPPIS Employee Self-Service Application would simplify human resource processes, reduce administrative delays and improve efficiency across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
“The IPPIS HR Module is designed to empower both employees and managers through self-service functionalities that simplify routine HR processes, reduce administrative delays and improve operational efficiency,” she said.
Jones-Nebo added that the platform aligns with the Federal Government’s goal of building a responsive, technology-driven public service.
She also described the recently approved Public Service Mentoring Policy and Guidelines as a landmark reform that would institutionalise mentorship, strengthen succession planning and promote knowledge transfer across the civil service.
According to her, the simultaneous rollout of both initiatives reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening public institutions through technology and human capital development.
She urged permanent secretaries, directors and heads of human resource management in MDAs to ensure the successful implementation of the reforms.
The IPPIS Employee Self-Service Application and the Public Service Mentoring Programme are part of ongoing efforts by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation to improve service delivery, accountability and efficiency across the public service.
