Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has reiterated his support for the removal of petrol subsidy.
Obi stated this on Monday at a conference organised by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The former presidential candidate said the removal of the subsidy was necessary, stressing that the policy should not be reversed simply because the proceeds were being mismanaged.
He, however, maintained that the government must ensure that the benefits and savings from the subsidy removal are properly managed and used for the development of the country.
