Kano, Plateau pledge to deepen inter-state friendship

The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has paid a working visit to his counterpart in Plateau State, Mrs. Josephine Piyo, in what was described as part of ongoing efforts to foster unity and collaboration between the two states.

In a statement signed by his Press Secretary, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, and made available to journalists in Kano on Tuesday, Gwarzo highlighted the deep-rooted historical and cultural bonds between Kano and Plateau.

According to him, “Plateau holds a special place in my heart because of my NYSC experience here. People always look forward to visiting this state to enjoy its warmth and hospitality.”

The statement further quoted the Kano deputy governor as recalling his personal attachment to Plateau, noting that he had served in the state as a corps member 37 years ago.

Responding, Mrs. Piyo described the visit as a symbol of inter-state unity and friendship, while commending Kano’s gesture as one that reflects mutual respect and cooperation.

She also lauded Plateau’s reputation as “one of the most serene and hospitable states in Nigeria” and extended greetings to the government and people of Kano

The meeting, the statement added, underscored the growing commitment of both states to strengthen socio-cultural and political cooperation for the collective benefit of their citizens.
