Suspected bandits have kidnapped at least 30 children in an attack on Kasai village, located in the Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State. This comes amid a surge in banditry within the region, according to Channels Television.
The attack reportedly occurred early Monday morning while the children were collecting firewood. A resident informed Channels Television that the bandits intercepted the children and took them to an unknown location.
As of now, neither the Katsina State government nor security agencies have commented on the incident. Efforts to reach Katsina Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, for a statement were unsuccessful.
This kidnapping highlights the ongoing security challenges faced by residents in Katsina State, particularly in the Batsari area.
