The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has distributed N3.72 billion as statutory allocation for April. This figure, revealed by Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, FCT Minister of State, during the 189th Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) meeting in Abuja on Friday, represents a 47% decrease from the N6.32 billion disbursed in March.
A detailed breakdown of the allocation shows that N1.24 billion was distributed among the six area councils, while N2.49 billion was allocated to teachers and the pension scheme.
Among the area councils, the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) received N373.96 million, Gwagwalada N175.26 million, and Kuje N205.1 million. Bwari Area Council received N169.16 million, Abaji N131.71 million, and Kwali Area Council N181.44 million.
Regarding the allocations for education and pensions, primary school teachers were allocated N2.12 billion. Additionally, N37.24 million was designated as a 1% Training Fund, N226.48 million was set aside for the 15% Pension Fund, and N107.85 million was earmarked for the 10% Employer Pension Contribution.
Dr. Mahmoud urged the area council authorities to utilize the funds effectively to ensure the development and welfare of their respective regions.
