Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies is positioning itself as a leading teacher training institution in the state and beyond, according to its Provost, Professor Abubakar Balarabe Jakada.
“A tree that bears good fruit attracts many,” Professor Jakada remarked, emphasizing the college’s efforts to offer high-quality education, training, and research in Islamic and legal studies.
Speaking during an accreditation inspection by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), Professor Jakada reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to producing well-qualified graduates capable of addressing the shortage of teachers in primary and secondary schools.
He highlighted the college’s role as a center for both moral and academic excellence, saying, “Knowledge without character is like a flower without fragrance.”
He further noted that the college is dedicated to advancing knowledge and ensuring its practical application to meet the educational needs of the state and the nation.
To support these goals, the college has upgraded its programs to align with NCCE standards and improved its infrastructure to offer degree programs, including an affiliation with the Federal University of Dutsin Ma.
“If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together,” Jakada added, referring to the partnerships that are helping strengthen the college’s academic offerings.
